Adoption Criteria
Couples wishing to adopt a child through An Open Door Adoption Agency, Inc.
African-American or Bi-Racial (at least one biological parent is of
African-American heritage) Domestic program must meet the following
criteria:
- Be Christians
- Be married at least two (2) years
- Be at least 25 years of age; and not over the age of 50
- Be free of communicable disease, in good physical and mental health, and have a normal life expectancy
- Have the capacity to meet the child's physical and emotional needs throughout his/her developmental stages of childhood and adolescence
- If in Georgia - Once accepted into the program, must attend two scheduled program meetings. Both meetings require MANDATORY attendance by adoptive parents.
