Adoption Process
Single birthmothers in Taiwan are outcasts in society. Adoption is their only real choice. The two orphanages that we work with care for these women. They are given prenatal care and assistance to put their lives in order. These birthmothers are shown photos of the different waiting families and often make the choice of who will adopt their child. For initial acceptance into the program, you only need a current home study, immigration clearance, photos and letters of recommendation. Once you are approved, your photos are shown to birthmothers. Once you have been selected and you accept the match, it usually takes four to six months to process the adoption. It is not necessary for you to attend the court proceedings.
